World Wildlife Habitats

A three-volume animal and wildlife encyclopedia. Each 208 page volume examines several particular wildlife habitats, covering a total of 23 specifically identified types of environmental category. An envrionment or habitat is not defined by national territory or animal classification, but is entirely dependant on type of local geography or topography. Each section is introduced with a short commentary and a world locator map, indicating by color shading the areas on the globe having the habitat under review. The index in volume 3 includes commmon and Latin animal names, species and general groups, habitats and major geographical or political features, and significant topic headings.
